Just wondered what anyone thought about the new scientific food they have out now. Babes want touch it. I wish she would, because I heard it's healthier than the other brands. Just wondered if anyone had tried it, and what you thought of it.

Would you like to be forced to eat something you disliked..experimenting with different dog foods causes digestive upsets and loss of condition. Babes is trying to tell you something I suggest you listen to her.

What new dog food do you speak of, DreamLady? What's the brand name?

I wouldn't switch Daisy's food! Not unless I checked with the vet! The second poster taught me something! If it may caus stomach probblems I wouldn't try it! I don't know much about dogs seeing Daisy is my first dog! I used to be scared of dogs! I know a lot about guinea pigs!

Thanks for the help, especially Goblin. I couldn't nor wouldn't force her to eat it. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how it affects a dog's health, and how other dogs reacted to it. I bought some for Babes when I took her to the vet. When she didn't want it, I naturally discontinued her use of it. I use Purenna, and she likes it when i mix it with the food in pouches. Oh, I remember now. The brand was Petigree. It was dry, and so is the Purenna I give her now. Thanks for your comments.

Hmm we had a terrible time with Dougal, a gorgeous beared collie with a sensitive stomach, Dougal couldn't get on with pedigree chum, it gave him really bad stomach ache and he was constantly sick.
We abandoned the fancy foods for winalot and home made veg filled mince and/or stew, and Dougie is thriving.

These prepared foods are often overloaded with everything that dogs supposedly need..I mean look at wolves, who survive purely on meat and the stomach contents of their plant eating prey..you don't hear of them suffering digestive problems? Stick to simple good quality food with plenty of veg and your dog will be fine.

There's a brand in the US that I especially like for Shepheards, Huskies and other working dogs, It's called New Frontier. Oh, and if your dog will eat it this way, always try and serve the food dry, without water or canned food. It helps keep the build up of tarter on the dog's teeth to a minimum.
